Weldtite Products Limited, located in Barton upon Humber, Lincolnshire engaged CR Parrott Consultants Limited to examine the feasibility of extending their First Floor Office area to allow for a proposed increase in staff whilst maintaining as much exterior parking as possible.
With this in mind, it was suggested to provide a First Floor extension supported by an open steel framework, which would then allow cars to park underneath.
Planning for the scheme was submitted and approval received. In addition a Building Regulation application was also submitted and, following early discussions with the local Building Control office, a Conditional Approval received subject to confirmation of items to be provided by the Main Contractor.
Tenders for the scheme were issued with 3No Contractors and tenders were returned to CR Parrott Consultants for appraisal with the Client, prior to the contract being awarded. A Main Contractor has now been awarded the Project, and works began early June 2017 with completion of the project scheduled for the middle of August 2017.
Based on the location of the scheme, relative to the River Humber, and possible issues associated with the local ground conditions, the option for a piled foundation system issued as part of the Tender process has been adopted for construction on site.
