Assistant Structural Technician Vacancy

Due to the company’s ongoing success, we are currently seeking an Assistant Structural Technician (with CAD) with proven experience of civil’s/structural steelwork/general building detailing.

Working in the Structural team at the company’s headquarters located in North Lincolnshire, our new Assistant Structural Technician will be under the guidance of our Associate Structural Engineer and also work very closely with our Architectural team, involved in the design and execution of construction design for retail, industrial, commercial, residential, healthcare and education schemes. You will also be required to liaise with Clients’ and Contractors as part of your daily duties. Undertaking this work would require site survey skills, client liaison skills and ideally some Project Management experience with the ability to produce appropriate work documentation such as Tender packages, for prestigious schemes in many different sectors such as Education, Health, Residential and Commercial including the expanding local Food Industry.

You will be a highly motivated individual with initiative, self-confidence, excellent communications skills, flexibility and adaptability, with the drive with an ability to work under your own direction or within a small team of professionals.  This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented Assistant Structural Technician with at least 2 years’ experience seeking to develop their career.

An ideal candidate will have the following.

  • Minimum HNC in Building Studies/Construction, or similar
    • At least 2 years’ experience working within a Structural role with relevant duties relating to all aspects of the construction industry
    • Have experience of the latest Building Regulation requirements
    • Experience in AutoCAD is essential
    • Experience of BIM/Revit is preferred, however training can be provided
    • The company operates Microsoft Office therefore working knowledge is also required
    • Ability to work under guidance and instruction in accordance with office Quality arrangements
    • Experience of design co-ordination for Planning & Building Regulation applications where applicable
    • Hold a full UK Driving Licence

Hours of work – 40hr working week, Monday to Friday between core hours of 8.00am – 5.30pm (with half an hour unpaid lunch)
